GLIMPSES OF BHUTAN (5 nights 6 days)

Day 1: Delhi - Paro - Thimphu - 65 kms/2.5 hrs
Fly into Paro from Kolkata/ Delhi. Drive for 2 hrs to Thimphu where we stay for the night. Familiarization and sightseeing of Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu
Full day sightseeing of Thimphu. Visit the monasteries, museums, temples, dzongs and colorful markets.

Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha and Wangdue - 90 kms/3-4 hrs
Drive over Dochu La to Punakha valley. The road drops down from the pass through forest and finally emerging in cultivated lands of low lying sub tropical Punakha and Wangdiphodrang valley. Visit wangdi and Punakha dzong. The dzong was the power base for old system of reincarnate rulers.

Day 4: Punakha - Paro - 142 kms/5-6 hrs
Visit Chimi lakhang (temple) and Drukpa Kuenley’s (popularly known as madman’s temple. Drive back to Thimphu and on to Paro. Visit the national museum housed in an ancient watchtower and the impressive Rinphung dzong. Night stay in hotel.

Day 5: Paro
The options for the day are sightseeing of Paro and hike to Taksang. The hike is a 2-3 hrs hike to the monastery. Lunch at a teahouse en route. Hike back to trail head and visit Drugyul dzong and 7th century Kyichu temple. Night stay in hotel.

Day 6: Paro - Delhi
Fly back to Kolkata/ Delhi.
