Day 1: New Jalpaiguri - Gangtok - 124 kms/4 hrs
Arrive in New Jalpaiguri by train or fly into Bagdogra.
Meet, assist and transfer to Gangtok. Overnight stay at
the Bamboo resort situated on the outskirts of Gangtok.
Day 2: Gangtok
An early morning trip to Tashi view point (offering
fabulous views of Kanchenjunga) followed by a full day
sightseeing of Gangtok after a leisurely breakfast.
Day 3: Gangtok - Nathu La - Changu Lake – Gangtok - 102 kms/4 hrs
Drive to Nathu la after breakfast. Visit the Changu Lake
on way back to Gangtok. Night stay at the resort.
Day 4: Gangtok - Chungthang - Lachung – 116 kms/4-5 hrs
A fascinating drive to Lachung. We stop briefly en route
at Chungthang, which is at the confluence of Lachen and
Lachung valleys. Legend has it that Chungthang was blessed
by Guru Rinpoche because of which Paddy is said to thrive
at this point only and nowhere else in Sikkim. Lachen and Lachung are the most beautiful valleys of
Sikkim region. A day’s rest amidst beautiful surroundings
at either one of these is highly recommended.
Day 5: Lachung - Lachen - 48 kms/2 hrs
Lachen is a small tribal village ruled by the Dzumsa. The
main site to visit is the Lachen monastery. A number of
villagers are still yak herders and keep migrating. Day at
leisure in Lachen. Stay in a guesthouse.
Day 6: Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake - Lachen - 120 kms/5 hrs
A visit to Gurudongmar Lake is a must while in Sikkim. It
is a full day excursion through one of the most
picturesque drives. Evening at leisure in guesthouse in Lachen.
Day 7: Lachen - Yuksom - 258 kms/9-10 hrs
Drive to Yuksom- the ancient capital of Sikkim via
Samdoupche; the holy spot where the tallest statue of Guru
Rinpoche has been built. Reach Yuksom and check into the guesthouse.
Day 8: Yuksom - Pemayangtse - 32 kms/1.5 hrs
Visit the Khecheopalri Lake after breakfast. Afterwards,
drive to Pemayangtse to see Rabdantse ruins - the second
capital of Sikkim & Pemayangtse Monastery. Night stay in a guesthouse.
Day 9: Pemayangtse to Darjeeling - 110 kms
Drive to Darjeeling via Singla bazaar route through the
tea gardens with magnificent views of the Rangit valley
and the Kanchendzonga range. Evening walk around
Darjeeling to explore the old world charm. Overnight stay
in a hotel.
Day 10: Darjeeling
Full day sightseeing of Darjeeling.
Day 11: Darjeeling - Kalimpong - 51 kms/2 hrs
Explore the village growing organic tea then drive to
Kalimpong to see the flower nurseries. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day 12: Kalimpong - New Jalpaiguri
Drive back to New Jalpaiguri/ Bagdogra to fly back home.
