What are the options for
wildlife safaris available in India?
The safari options can vary from park to park. Normally,
Jeep safari is the most common way to explore the jungle.
At some parks, you also get the option of an elephant
ride, boat ride or vans. At some parks, one can go for
Rickshaw/Bicycle ride.
Walks may be possible only in designated areas in some
parks.
Is there a good chance of seeing a tiger?
No one can guarantee sighting of tiger since here you are
exploring the Jungle at its natural behaviour. But there
is much more to Indian wildlife than the tiger.
Is there any age restriction for children?
None.
Are their adequate facilities for handicapped ?
Not all the lodges have wheelchair facility. However, with
enough time, it is possible to conduct a tour for the
handicapped.
How is the food available?
Good and varied food is available in most of the good
properties around popular wildlife reserves. However, much
variety may not be available in lodges around
not-so-popular reserves.
How safe are the wildlife reserves in India?
No wildlife place can be 100% safe. However, after taking
basic precautions and adhering to dos and don’ts from the
guides, these places are as safe as any.
Any language issue?
The guides are English/Hindi speaking. However, with
enough notice, guides in other languages can also be made
available.
Is bottled water easily available?
Sealed bottled water is available all over the country.
What medical precautions should one take?
It is a good idea to get oneself medically checked and
certified “fit to travel” before embarking on this trip.
Please check with your family doctor.
Vaccinations advised for Hepatitis A, Polio, Typhoid and
Tetanus. A course of anti-malaria tablets is recommended.
While medicines and aid is readily available, an emergency
kit of Band-Aids, antiseptic ointment, diarrhoea tablets,
anti-allergy tablets, sterile syringes, sutures and
needles is recommended.
Booking procedure?
Call us or send us an e-mail stating your specific
requirements. We will tailor-make an itinerary to suit
your needs. Once the tour is finalized, deposit the
advance in our account and…
How far in advance should I book my wildlife tour?
We will recommend early bookings. November till March is
considered to be the peak season, especially Christmas
holidays.
Do I require Indian visa?
Visa should be taken well in advance through the nearest
located Indian Embassy / High Commission. For few
countries, visa can be obtained on arrival but confirm
this beforehand with Indian Embassy.
What is included in the price?
Depends upon the itinerary and tour since most of our
tours are tailor-made. Please check with us before making
the payment.
What is the payment policy?
We require 50 % initial deposit at the time of booking.
Balance is payable at least 30 days prior to the
commencement of tour. You can also pay us the balance in
cash in US Dollars / Euro on arrival.
Do you accept credit card payments?
We do not accept credit cards.
Does you company do the Travel Insurance?
No. You are advised to get the necessary insurance from
your home country.
Any tips on photography?
Smallest lens required is 200 mm. though the ideal tele
lens would be up to 400 mm and for bird photography, even
more tele lens would be ideal. For serious enthusiasts,
two camera bodies are recommended so that one need not
have to change lens during the safari.
Huge storage and batteries is highly recommended.
Other recommendations:
- One can convert the foreign exchange upon arrival at the
airport or in a bank in any of the major cities. Please
insist on encashment certificate as this will be helpful
in converting Indian currency back to foreign currency.
• As trade of all species is banned in India, purchase of
items such as peacock feathers and any other animal
products is forbidden. Similarly, please discourage snake
charmers, monkey and bear shows.
- Use minimum non-bio-degradable material, such as
plastics, cans, etc.
- Tips may be given collectively to ensure fair
distribution.
Equipment check list?
Footwear:
Broken in light walking shoes (two pairs), woolen socks.
Clothing:
Carry comfortable and adequate clothing. Waterproof jacket
and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, cotton trousers or
jeans, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, sun hat, bathing suit,
track-suit.
Other items:
Day pack, water bottle, sunscreen lotion, sunglasses,
flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve,
insect repellent, diary, pocket-knife, tie cord, sewing
kit, plasters, binoculars, camera, cards etc.
