Vanghat - Corbett National Park
We have moved to banjaraexperiences.com. Click here to see the latest Vanghat - Corbett National Park listing.

Vanghat is a wildlife eco-lodge set deep inside the forests of the Kalagarh Tiger Reserve in Jim Corbett National Park. Surrounded on three sides by the dense jungle and bordered by the Ramganga River on the fourth, this locale is the epitome of wildness, seclusion and tranquility apart from being home to myriad species of birds, mammals and exotic flora.

The cozy accommodation units, a dining area, a Machan overlooking the river and a campfire area with provisions for a barbeque are all built in a rustic, risen-from-the-earth kind of style: the lodge is so perfectly camouflaged by its surroundings that it is difficult to tell where the forest ends and the lodge begins! The wilderness experience begins even as you approach the lodge: a 2 km hike through the forest followed by a raft ride across the Ramganga.

Signature Banjara hospitality, forest hikes & jeep safaris, the roar of a leopard or tiger on the prowl accompanied by the strident warnings call of deer and langur, incessant bird calls, exemplary star gazing and much more lies in store.

Accomodation

The lodge features 9 accommodation units including Mud Cottages, Forest Rest House Rooms, Trappers Huts and a Stone Cottage. All units have ensuite facilities.

Things to see & do

Forest Hikes

Exploratory hikes in the forest surrounding the lodge are a fantastic way to experience the jungle and spot the birdlife, mammals & flora.

Jeep Safaris

Private safaris can be organized for the Jhirna, Bijrani and Durgadevi – Lohachur Ranges of the National Park. Of course, you could also do the Canter Safaris that take you into the Dhikala Zone.

Birding

One can enjoy an exemplary Birding experience from just about anywhere on the lodge campus and on the Forest Hikes.

Ramganga River

The Ramganga River is just a stroll away and in summers it is the perfect natural swimming pool to cool off while you spot bird & mammalian life. A few hours spent on a camp-chair by the river, especially early morning & early evening, would be a delightful and rewarding experience.

The Machan

The towering Machan in the lodge is a great place to while away the hours as you sit with your binoculars and a flask of tea spotting the denizens of the forest.
