Many people believe that the walk around Annapurna is the classic trek in Nepal. It offers not only some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Himalaya, but between the lush irrigated Marshyangdi valley, the high arid country to the north, then down into the Kaligandaki valley, the deepest gorge in the world, the traveller passes through a myriad cross section of the culture of Nepal.

    KATHMANDU (1400 M)

    Day 1: KATHMANDU (1400 M)

    Arrive at Kathmandu airport. Transfer to your hotel in the vibrant Thamel area. Rest of the day at leisure, you could also do some sightseeing; visit the Patan Durbar and Swayambhunath Stupa – for great views at sunset.

    KATHMANDU – POKHARA (1400 M) 210 km / 7 - 8 hrs OR 30 min flight

    Day 2: KATHMANDU – POKHARA (1400 M) 210 km / 7 - 8 hrs OR 30 min flight

    Reach Pokhara either by road or a short flight. Stay in a hotel besides the beautiful Phewa Lake.

    POKHARA – NAYA PUL 1 ½ hrs drive – trek starts to ULLERI (2073 M) 7 hrs trek

    Day 3: POKHARA – NAYA PUL 1 ½ hrs drive – trek starts to ULLERI (2073 M) 7 hrs trek

    Short drive to Naya Pul where the trek starts. Follow the Modi River to Birethanti, a beautiful village with many guest houses and from here take the route along the banks of the Burungdi River to the beautiful Magar village of Ulleri. Although the route is generally uphill and steep at places, you will enjoy the experience of trekking on an undulating landscape, past picturesque Magar villages, before settling in Ulleri for the night.

    ULLERI – GHOREPANI (2856 M) 4 - 5 hrs trek

    Day 4: ULLERI – GHOREPANI (2856 M) 4 - 5 hrs trek

    Today's trail winds up through oak and rhododendron forests and leads to Ghorepani, one of most popular destinations along the Annapurna route. This village in Myagdi District is known for its breathtaking mountains scenery.

    GHOREPANI – POON HILL (3210 M) - TADAPANI (2625 M) 6–7 hrs trek

    Day 5: GHOREPANI – POON HILL (3210 M) - TADAPANI (2625 M) 6–7 hrs trek

    Hike up to Poon Hill early in the morning to enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Lamjung mountains at sunrise. Descend to Ghorepani and enjoy your breakfast. Continue your downhill journey to Tadapani travelling through rhododendron and pine forests.

    TADAPANI – CHHOMRONG (2140 M) 5 hrs trek

    Day 6: TADAPANI – CHHOMRONG (2140 M) 5 hrs trek

    Follow the trail along the Kimrong River to Chhomrong. Enjoy amazing views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli Peak as well as the majestic Machapuchare Mountain.

    CHOMRONG – DOVAN (2500 M) 5-6 hrs trek

    Day 7: CHOMRONG – DOVAN (2500 M) 5-6 hrs trek

    After leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends to cross the Chhomrong Khola through the suspension bridge. The trail passes through thick and dark silent rhododendron and Oak forest up to Khuldi Ghar. Then the route descends into a long & steep stone staircase through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests to finally emerge at Dovan.

    DOVAN – DEURALI (3200 M) 4 hrs trek

    Head for Deurali on a trail through thick rhododendron and bamboo forests.

    DEURALI – ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4131 M) 4 hrs trek

    Day 9: DEURALI – ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4131 M) 4 hrs trek

    Muster all your energy and start your journey passing along the Machapuchare Base Camp to reach the Annapurna Base Camp - the starting point for those out there to conquer the tenth highest mountain in the world that is also among the most dangerous. Be surrounded by the mighty Himalayas. Enjoy a spectacular view of mountains like Annapurna I (8091 M), Annapurna South (7219 M), Barah Shikhar (7800 M) and Machapuchare.

    ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP – BAMBOO (2345 M) 6 hrs trek

    Day 10: ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP – BAMBOO (2345 M) 6 hrs trek

    Trek back to Bamboo, a picturesque village along the route, and stay there overnight.

    BAMBOO – JHINU DANDA (1760 M) 5 hrs trek

    Day 11: BAMBOO – JHINU DANDA (1760 M) 5 hrs trek

    It is pleasant jungle walk to Sinuwa and then you head down to Chhomrong Khola. From here you ascend through the long stone staircase to upper Chhomrong and then descend to Jhinu Danda. Here you may also take bath in a natural hot water spring.

    JHINU DANDA – POTHANA (2000 M) 6-7 hrs trek

    Day 12: JHINU DANDA – POTHANA (2000 M) 6-7 hrs trek

    On the days trail you will cross few suspension bridges and many waterfalls and then steeply up to the ridge at Deurali. From here you will enjoy the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and the right side of the range. Then the trail drops down and takes you to the scenic village of Pothana. You can explore the traditional village or watch the sunset in the mounts.

    POTHANA – trek ends at PHEDI 3 hrs trek – POKHARA 1 hr drive

    Day 13: POTHANA – trek ends at PHEDI 3 hrs trek – POKHARA 1 hr drive

    Trek downhill to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara.

    POKHARA - KATHMANDU 210 km / 7 - 8 hrs OR 30 min flight

    Day 14: POKHARA - KATHMANDU 210 km / 7 - 8 hrs OR 30 min flight

    Drive back to Kathmandu or fly back.

    Post breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight.
